Bathroom Abatement and Restoration, Start to Finish
On this Denver bathroom our crew abated the asbestos plaster and flooring, remediated the mold behind the tub wall, demoed the room to the studs, and rebuilt it as part of the same project. This page covers the two rebuild stages of that job.
This service is provided by Advantage Environmental Abatement, LLC, a CDPHE-certified Denver contractor.
Stage 1 of the rebuild
Plumbing and Tub
New supply and drain lines with a new bathtub set level and tested. With the wall open after abatement and remediation, the old lines were replaced and the new tub was installed before any board went back up, so nothing had to be reopened later.
Framing treated and cleared for clearance testing New bathtub set with fresh plumbing rough-in
Stage 2 of the rebuild
Moisture-Proof Build Back
Durock cement board plus mold-resistant drywall, then an 80 inch tub surround. Every surface then received an antimicrobial, anti-mold primer before fresh latex paint.
Durock cement board set around the new tub 80 inch tub surround over Durock and mold-resistant board Fully restored bathroom, primed and painted
